Summary of Position


The Payroll Assistant works alongside the Payroll Associate. Assisting in the collection, entering, and
processing of payroll data for St. Joseph’s Indian School and Sacred Heart Center. Assists in keeping HRIS
systems updated. This is a non-exempt position.


Accountability


Reports to the Payroll Manager


Core Responsibilities


 Assists employees in fulfilling the Mission of St. Joseph’s Indian School by promoting and modeling a
culture of compassion, encouragement, and results.
 Assists the Human Resource Department in the “St. Joe’s Way” initiative.


Responsibilities


1. Assists in maintaining payroll information through the collection, entering, and processing of data.
2. Makes payroll related payments per federal, state, and local laws.
3. Assists with maintaining and updating employment records by keeping HRIS up-to-date.
4. Provides payroll information to authorized persons by providing time clock reports and assisting the
Payroll Associate with further questions and requests direct to the Payroll department.
5. Assists with Government and organization required reports on a monthly basis.
6. Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
7. Enhances professional knowledge by attending job-related training required by the supervisor.
8. Contributes to the department success by completing other responsibilities as required by the
supervisor.


Qualifications


 Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
 Excellent communication skills
Physical Demands
 Uses both hands and wrists repetitively for prolonged periods.
 Driving may be required.



Expectations of Hours Worked


 40 hours per week
