Warehouse Assistant/Production Support

Summary of Position

The position of Warehouse Assistant/Production Support is responsible for those activities involved with delivering and picking up mail on campus and at the Post Office and is responsible for the operation of the inserting machines, under the guidance of the technical support, to assemble mail for posting .  This is a nonexempt position. 


Reports to the Production Manager


  1. Picks up the mail from the USPS (post office).
  2. Delivers mail to Disbursements and Development Office.
  3. Acts as mail courier to Central Offices, Museum, Tipi Pres Printing, Personal Care Center and Native Hope.
  4. Shrink wrap pallets of mail.
  5. Set up and configure the inserting machine to begin new jobs and trouble-shoot any problems throughout the job.
  6. Unpack and prepare materials for use on the inserting machine,  keeping feeders filled to insure a smooth unbroken machine operation
  7. Prepares and meters first class letters, flats and packages
  8. Prepares all mail according to the USPS guidelines and policies/procedures of the development office
  9. Removes garbage/recyclables to designated areas, maintain safe and clean work area
  10. Performs other responsibilities as required by the Production Manager.


  • Valid Driver’s License
  • High School Degree or equivalent preferred
  • Basic computer skills

Physical Demands

  • Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions bundles weighing up to 20 lbs. and occasionally 40 lbs.
  • Frequently must push or pull carts weighing up to 250 lbs.
  • Uses the abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly over time without becoming fatigued.
