Grades 1-8

In grades 1–8, your child will learn in a caring environment where they are encouraged to be curious, try new things, and build confidence. Alongside a strong academic foundation, they will explore Lakota language and culture while receiving personalized support to help them reach their full potential.

Grades 1-2

The first years of elementary school are an exciting time of learning and discovery. For many children, first grade is their first classroom experience, making it an important step in building the skills and confidence they’ll use for years to come.

In first grade, your child will begin developing a strong foundation in reading, writing, and math while learning important life skills like independence, responsibility, and working with others.

By second grade, you’ll see your child grow into a more confident learner. They’ll begin setting goals, solving problems, asking thoughtful questions, and taking pride in their accomplishments—all while continuing to build the academic skills that prepare them for future success.

Grades 3-4

Third and fourth grade are exciting years as your child becomes more independent and confident. During this time, they’ll strengthen their reading, writing, math, science, and social studies skills while learning to think critically, solve problems, and express their ideas more clearly.

Every child grows at their own pace, and our teachers are there to encourage and support each step along the way. As students build new skills, they gain confidence in their abilities and discover they can accomplish things they once thought were out of reach.

By the end of fourth grade, you’ll see your child take greater ownership of their learning, work more independently, and celebrate the pride that comes with achieving new goals.

Grades 5-8

The middle school years are a time of exciting growth, new experiences, and increasing independence. As your child moves through grades 5–8, they’ll take on new academic challenges, build stronger friendships, and discover more about themselves and the world around them.

Our teachers and staff provide the guidance and encouragement students need as they grow in confidence, responsibility, and leadership. Along the way, your child will continue strengthening their academic skills while learning to think critically, communicate effectively, and work together with others.

By the time they complete eighth grade, students are well prepared for high school with the knowledge, confidence, and life skills they’ll need to succeed in the classroom and beyond
