50th Powwow
Since 1976, we’ve welcomed families and friends to the annual Powwow (wachipi) right here on campus in Chamberlain, SD. You can tour the school and homes, enjoy cultural foods, and take part in fun activities and demonstrations. The highlight of the day is the youth dance competition, where our students shine.
This powwow is special because it’s just for kids and teens. Supporters from around the world visit Chamberlain to learn about the school and watch the talented dancers, including many St. Joseph’s Indian School students and youth from nearby communities.
Building brighter futures while honoring Native American culture and traditions.
"I love St. Joe's because of the great powwows, sports, and activities I've participated in... They tell me my culture is a valuable thing."
