Part-time or Temporary Mail Processing Specialist

Summary of Position
The Mail Processor (Part-Time/Temp) is responsible for the initial processing of mail and recording the donations
received. This is a non-exempt position.

Accountability
Reports to mail room manager.

Core Responsibilities
Always follows established policies and procedures of the Mail Processing Department.

Responsibilities
Operates the mail opening machines. Sorts the replies and donations into specified categories.
Operates the Mavro imaging system to process reply devices along with cash, check and credit card donations.
Processes mail/cash, separates donations from reply devices and makes a note of currency received from the
donor.
Performs responsibilities as needed to ensure the mail production is within three (3) business days during off-peak times and within five (5) days during the peak season. This includes working overtime as required.
Sorts and condenses the daily mail trays from the Post Office.
Will assist with getting mail from the post office and disperse mail among campus and downtown offices.
Is responsible for opening the rebounds and shredding processed check/credit card information.
Maintain tight security and confidentiality of all donor information.
Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the Mail Processing Manager.

Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands
Uses both hands and wrists repetitively for prolonged periods.
May have to drive mail vehicles.
Sit for extended periods of time

Expectations of Hours Worked

The Mail Room’s normal operating hours are 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, rotating Fridays.

Option 1: Part Time
28-hour work week.
8 am to 3:30 pm is popular but flexible.
Option for summers off.

Option 2: Temp
40-hour work week.
Work 6 consecutive months to take 6 consecutive months off.
