Summary of Position
This position is designed to support on-going educational assistance for all High School students, as well as serving as the primary staff liaison with colleges and programs that support higher education for Native Americans. In addition, this role assists current and former students with secondary education, military, or career/employment while transitioning to life after high school. This is an exempt position.

Reports to the 7th – 12th Residential Director
Core Responsibilities
- Supports and models the Catholic Mission and the Native American Culture that are the foundations of St. Joseph’s Indian School.
- Promotes a reclaiming environment for all students through the Circle of Courage.
Responsibilities
- Provides regular and on-going opportunities for High School students to receive driver’s education and career information, paving the way for future educational, vocational, employment, and/or military pursuits in conjunction with Chamberlain public school.
- Provides ongoing support and guidance to post-high school students through various channels, assisting with their transition to higher education, the military, and career development in collaboration with the Alumni program.
- Assists with applications and scholarship/grant opportunities. Works with students and their guardians to complete the FAFSA.
- Leads the implementation and instruction of independent living and job skills for High School students.
- Plans and coordinates college visits, career events, and military recruitment while establishing partnerships with programs and institutions to provide student support, tutoring, and financial assistance.
- Directly supervises the high school summer program to include the coordination of student summer jobs, staffing, the on-call schedule and other related duties.
- Assists with the 8th grade student transition into the High School Program including visits with the 8th grade students regarding programs and assisting with the 8th grade selection process.
- Provide outcome data as related to graduates from CHS/STJO.
- Immediately reports any type of abuse or neglect, suspected or alleged, as well as any serious accidents or illnesses affecting the student.
- Assumes rotating weekday and weekend on call duties for the 7-12 grade community.
- Completes other responsibilities as required by the 7th – 12th Residential Director.
Qualifications
- Higher Education preferred
Physical Demands
- Uses both hands and wrists repetitively for prolonged periods.
- Driving is required.
- Some supervision may require standing for prolonged periods.
- Will require travel, weekends, and overnight stays.
Expectations of Hours Worked
At least 40 hours/week.
