Summary of Position


The Residential Coordinator coordinates all residential programming within the assigned homes. The position
is responsible for supervision of child care staff, overseeing day-to-day activities in the homes and monitoring
team functions and responsibilities. Together with the Trainers, trains new staff, supervises student record
keeping, recommends admission and dismissal of all students, and monitors budgets of assigned homes. This
is a year-round, exempt position.

Reports to the 7th – 12th Residential Director


Core Responsibilities


 Supports and models the Catholic Mission and the Native American Culture that are the foundations of
St. Joseph’s Indian School.
 Empowers staff under her/his supervision to be able to promote a reclaiming environment for all
students through the Circle of Courage.


Responsibilities


1. Directly supervises and evaluates Child Care Staff in assigned homes. Performs usual and customary
staffing functions including: hire new personnel, assign staff to homes, ensure that a “Reclaiming
Environment” is promoted within each home, and conduct performance evaluations setting up
performance goals/targets.
2. Works directly in conjunction with the Residential Administration in coordinating all student residential
programming within the community.
3. Communicates regularly with School Administration to ensure coordination of student
education/activities and promotes cooperation between the residential program and the school.
4. Assists in organizing and facilitating new staff orientation and training. Works with the Residential
Trainer to provide training to new residential staff.
5. Works directly with houseparents to insure that proper documentation is maintained and all forms are
completed in a timely manner. Also monitors the homes’ maintenance and cleanliness.
6. Attends new student admission meetings and recommends admission and dismissal of assigned
students.
7. Attends student service planning meetings to insure necessary information is presented and student
goals are being addressed.
8. Serves as a member of the residential on-call team which requires week night after-hours, and is a
member of the weekend on-call team which requires occasional after-hours and weekend work.
9. Assists in the coordination and supervision of Break Homes.
10. Reports any case of physical, emotional, or sexual abuse immediately to the proper authorities.
11. Performs other responsibilities as required by the 7th – 12th Residential Director.


Qualifications


 4-year degree required
 Experience in residential care, social work, and/or social services preferred
 3-5 years supervisory experience preferred


Physical Demands


 Uses both hands and wrists repetitively for prolonged periods.
 Driving is required.
 Some supervision may require standing for prolonged periods.


Expectations of Hours Worked


At least 40 hours/week.
