Summary of Position

 

The Software Development Intern is part of a small team that develops software to advance the mission of St. Joseph’s Indian School. This paid internship is focused on C#, ASP.NET and SQL Server. Interns in this role can expect to receive training and mentorship to help identify their strengths and develop their professional skills. Reports to the Software Development Manager.

 

Unless otherwise specified, this is a temporary non-exempt opportunity located at our Mission Advocacy Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop software applications using C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, and related technologies
  • Develop database and reporting software using SQL Server and related technologies
  • Test, deploy, support, and maintain software
  • Analyze, troubleshoot and debug technology problems
  • Create and maintain both technical and non-technical documentation
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Software Development Manager

 

Qualifications

 

  • Active pursuit of degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio, C#, ASP.NET MVC and/or Razor Pages, and SQL Server
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office in a Windows environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with: Entity Framework, jQuery, Bootstrap,
    ASP.NET Web Forms, Redpoint Data Management, SQL Server Reporting Services,
    IVR phone system integration and/or Microsoft Access
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

 

Physical Demands

 

  • Uses both hands and wrists repetitively for prolonged periods

  • May be required to sit for prolonged periods of time
