Summary of Position


The Thrift Store Associate is responsible for those activities involved with receiving, sorting, sizing and pricing parcels for
resale in the Thrift Store as well as assisting the store’s customers and displaying merchandise. This is a nonexempt
position.

Reports to the Thrift Store & Depot Manager

Responsibilities


1. Operates cash register to ensure customer’s sales are accurately processed.
2. Sorts, prices, and professionally displays merchandise in the Thrift Store and Depot.
3. Assists customers with their sales, implementing the highest level of customer service.
4. Maintains a store that is clean, organized and appealing to the public – noting items in need and sharing this
information with the Thrift Store & Depot Manager.
5. Maintains all records and information in a secure, professional, and confidential manner.
6. Sorts, launders, and tags all merchandise received as necessary.
7. Performs other responsibilities as requested by the Thrift Store & Depot Manager.


Qualifications


 High School Diploma or equivalent
 Basic computer skills required
 Previous retail or customer service training desired
 Must have the ability to positively portray the mission of St. Joseph’s Indian School


Physical Demands


 Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 20 lbs without assistance.
 Uses both hands and wrists repetitively for prolonged periods.
 Regularly bends, stoops, and crouches.
 Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
 Uses the abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly over time without becoming
fatigue.
